Sri Rao said the Foot walkers path was shut down in the nights after 10 PM for two weeks from August 7 th to August 22 nd to facilitate the forest guards and police to lay trap to catch the rogue panther. One panther was caught while another one a female is still at large.
The Executive Officer said that TTD had also decided to shift the deer park with 270 deers at the 7 thkm mark on the foot walker’s path as the wild animals were coming to the foot walkers path and scaring the devotees as they were attracted to the deer. Vizianagaram, June 30 2010
GOVINDA KALYANAM IN GUMMILAKSHMIPURAM, VIZIANAGARAM Dist

Vizianagaram, 30 June (P.R.O) Govinda kalyanam is conducted at Gumma Lakshmipuram in Vizianagaram district on Wednesday in a grand manner. Sri I Y R Krishna Rao, Executive Officer, TTD while addressing the devotees he said that the TTD in conducting such Govinda Kalyanams as part of Dharma Pracharam in rural areas. Earlier the same Kalyanams were conducted in five rural areas of East Godavari district. Next month onwards, the TTD is also planning to conduct similar Kalyanotsavams in Fishermen Villages in the coastal belt he added. The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams medical and ayurvedic doctors with paramedical staff conducted medical camp and distributed medicines to the Tribals. Dr. Medasani Mohan, Director, Annamacharya Project Sri Korada Ramakrishna, Co-Ordinator, Sir Srinivas Executive Engineer have Co-ordinated the entire event. Sri Janardhan Thataraju, Local MLA., ZPTC, MPTC, Sarpanches, Sri Vari Sevaks and large number of devotees has participated.
Sri Srinivasa Kalyanotsavams organized by the TTD received tremendous response and adoration across the country. With the experience gained by organizing these kalyanams vis-à-vis the demand for similar replication of the event down the line at the grassroots level, it has become imperative that TTD should launch this divine event at the Mandal level in each district starting with the East Godavari from the agency areas. My whirlwind tour of the agency area during Kalyanamastu phase-5 gave me an impression that unless and until we reach the people at the agency area with the divine message that God as the father, we as His children, where the mass of people are vulnerable to conversions, it is difficult to preserve, protect and promote the Hindu culture and the Hindu traditions to which the TTD is committed through its various wings like the Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishad Central / District / Mandal Dharmic councils and other allied projects. We have so far organized about 70 Sree Sreenivasa Kalyanams across the country from the tip of Himalayas down to Cape Commerin, involving huge lakhs of devotees and cross-sections of the people. These divine events have positively contributed to the process of divinization of community. The strength and support bases for any divine culture lie in the grass root level community.
Already the HDPP has made strong impacts on the minds of the public in the rural areas through its district-based agencies popularizing the sanatana Dharmic values and norms of good life pregnant in our puranas, sastras and other related works through audio visual and theatric performances.

Sri I.Y.R. Krishna Rao, IAS, EO, TTD, has taken clue during his interactions with the public through DIAL YOUR E.O to undertake the mission with zeal and enthusiasm involving the tribal people. The TTD could help networking with the TTD and the Govt agencies already committed this and working through Endowments Department in main.
.
God had chosen forests as His dwelling places when we understand Naimisa Aranyam and its background origin. We have several rishis and hermits like Bharadwaja, Atri, Vasishta, Gowtama, divine personalities like Lady Sabari and Guha, who hosted Rama and Lakshmana during their sojourn in the forest, the disciplined and skilled youth like Ekalavya, great teachers like Vyasa and Drona, Bhagavata Uttamas like Suka and so on. These are the people that were so favoured fabulously by God, and we need to remind them of their cultural ethos and background and take the message of Lord Venkateswara, none other than GOVINDA in Kaliyuga that we as Hindus are members of the same family fathered by Lord Govinda and forge the bonds of fraternity and universal family.
.
It is high time that we need to provide certain community assets like temples or mandirs installing or consecrating Lord Venkateswara’s idols there at once and provide some thatched shelters as Dammakka did for Lord Rama of Bharadrachalam those days, which has gradually evolved as the focal temple of worship for Indians at length. We have already schemes approved by the TTD Board to provide these idols and mikesets free of cost for these Dalitwads or tribal hamlets. We have to gear up the machinery with missionary zeal to protect our culture and our brothern. SREE GOVINDA KALYANAMS is the only way to generate the spirit of Bhakti and to motivate the people towards their home theme of Vedic Culture. The Endowments Department, the ITDA and the TTD together with the like-minded organizations have to work in tandem and take this flagship programme to the masses and the classes at the agency areas initially and continue this current across the state of Andhra Pradesh, by involving and roping in the SVETA-trained archaks hailing from these agency areas and making them the formidable agents with our backup support and guidance.

Kalahasti temple collapse – Andhra government to rebuild Srikalahasti temple tower

May 27, 2010 (Hyderabad) – The ‘Rajagopuram’ towering entrance to the 15th century Srikalahasti temple in Chittoor district that collapsed Wednesday night will be rebuilt with the assistance of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister K. Rosaiah announced Thursday.
‘We will approach the Archaeological Survey of India to rebuild the Rajagopuram in a scientific manner,’ Rosaiah told reporters here. Expressing his grief over the incident, he said an inquiry had already been ordered. ‘It is a matter which has to be looked into. I don’t have any ready made answers,’ he replied when asked if the negligence by the state’s endowments department had led to the collapse.
The government has formed a committee of experts to probe the reasons for the collapse of the ancient tower.
The temple’s 45-metre-tall Rajagopuram, which had recently developed cracks, caved in Wednesday night. Police said there was no loss of human life as all shops located near the structure had already been shifted. However, over 100 monkeys are feared dead in the incident.
The Rajagopuram was constructed in 1516 by Srikrishna Devaraya, the ruler of the Vijayanagara empire, to mark his visit to the temple as part of his march across the empire following his victory over his enemies.
On Tuesday, engineers, after an inspection of the seven-storeyed structure, had declared a 150-metre area around it as a danger zone. All shops in the area were then shifted, preventing a disaster.
Srikalahasti temple is among the most visited temples in Andhra Pradesh and is considered a must visit for anyone who visits the famed Tirupati temple.
The cracks had developed in the tower following recent rains. Rosaiah pointed out that few days ago, the government had approached Narasimha Rao, a professor of IIT Madras, to inspect the tower and recommend whether it could be repaired. However, the structure came crashing down even before he could inspect it.

Sri Kalahasti Gopuram collapsed

The ‘Gali Gopuram’ of famous Sri Kalahasti Temple located at Kalahasti city in Chitur district that was built 400 years ago by Raja Sri Krishna Devaraya developed huge cracks vertically splitting the marvellous structure into two parts. The crack developed is clearly visible and experts guess that it may collapse any time. Hence, the authorities of the temple tightened the structure with a huge wire mesh around it to avert further cracks. But, small pieces of the structure are falling down indicating the worsening condition of the structure. Temple authorities have erected fencing in the surroundings to avoid any untoward incident.
Some devotees who often visit the temple said that the structure has developed cracks long time ago, but the concerned authorities neglected to repair the structure in time, that’s why it developed cracks further.
If, we click on the image attached to this article, then we can notice the small crack in the structure the enlarged image, which is taken long time ago by the temple authorities. Still, they ignored it and placed in the temple’s official website as if nothing happened. The same small crack is now developed into huge splitting the structure into two pieces.
Experts, district Officials and temple authorities who studies the damage are said to be proposing to dismantle the 133 feet tall ancient structure and rebuild the same model in the same place.

Tirupati balaji
The ancient and sacred temple of Sri Venkateswara is located on the seventh peak, Venkatachala (Venkata Hill) of the Tirupati Hill, and lies on the southern banks of Sri Swami Pushkarini. It is by the Lord’s presidency over Venkatachala, that He has received the appellation, Venkateswara (Lord of the Venkata Hill). He is also called the Lord of the Seven Hills. The temple of Sri Venkateswara has acquired unique sanctity in Indian religious lore. The Sastras, Puranas, Sthala Mahatyams and Alwar hymns unequivocally declare that, in the Kali Yuga, one can attain mukti, only by worshipping Venkata Nayaka or Sri Venkateswara.

Sri Venkateswara Temple

The temple of Sri Venkateswara has acquired unique sanctity in Indian religious lore. The Sastras, Puranas, Sthala Mahatyams and Alwar hymns unequivocally declare that, in the Kali Yuga, one can attain mukti, only by worshipping Venkata Nayaka or Sri Venkateswara.
The benefits acquired by a piligrimage to Venkatachala are mentioned in the Rig Veda and Asthadasa Puranas. In these epics, Sri Venkateswara is described as the great bestower of boons. There are several legends associated with the manifestation of the Lord at Tirumala.
The temple has its origins in Vaishnavism, an ancient sect which advocates the principles of equality and love, and prohibits animal sacrifice.
The sanctum sanctorum which houses the awe-inspiring idol of the Lord of the Seven Hills is situated in the main temple complex of Tirumala.

Temple History
There is ample literary and epigraphic testimony to the antiquity of the temple of Lord Sri Venkateswara. All the great dynasties of rulers of the southern peninsula have paid homage to Lord Sri Venkateswara in this ancient shrine. The Pallavas of Kancheepuram (9th century AD), the Cholas of Thanjavur (a century later), the Pandyas of Madurai, and the kings and chieftains of Vijayanagar (14th - 15th century AD) were devotees of the Lord and they competed with one another in endowing the temple with rich offerings and contributions. It was during the rule of the Vijayanagar dynasty that the contributions to the temple increased. Sri Krishnadevaraya had statues of himself and his consorts installed at the portals of the temple, and these statues can be seen to this day. There is also a statue of Venkatapati Raya in the main temple.
After the decline of the Vijayanagar dynasty, nobles and chieftains from all parts of the country continued to pay their homage and offer gifts to the temple. The Maratha general, Raghoji Bhonsle, visited the temple and set up a permanent endowment for the conduct of worship in the temple. He also presented valuable jewels to the Lord, including a large emerald which is still preserved in a box named after the General. Among the later rulers who have endowed large amounts are the rulers of Mysore and Gadwal.
After the fall of the Hindu kingdoms, the Muslim rulers of Karnataka and then the Britishers took over, and many of the temples came under their supervisory and protective control.
In 1843 AD, the East India Company divested itself of the direct management of non-Christian places of worship and native religious institutions. The administration of the shrine of Sri Venkateswara and a number of estates were then entrusted to Sri Seva Dossji of the Hatiramji Mutt at Tirumala, and the temple remained under the administration of the Mahants for nearly a century, till 1933 AD.
In 1933, the Madras Legislature passed a special act, which empowered the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams(TTD) Committee to control and administer a fixed group of temples in the Tirumala-Tirupati area, through a Commissioner appointed by the Government of Madras.
In 1951, the Act of 1933 was replaced by an enactment whereby the administration of TTD was entrusted to a Board of Trustees, and an Executive Officer was appointed by the Government .
The provisions of the Act of 1951 were retained by Charitable and Religious Endowments Act, 1966.
