New dining hall in Annadanam Complex Tirupati , Sep 23 : TTD Trust Board chairman K Bapi Raju inaugurated a third dining hall in the massive Matrusri Tarigonda Vengamamba Annaprasadam Complex here on Thursday. Earlier, he, along with his wife Annapurna, performed pujas to the photo of Sri Padmavathi Venkateswara and later dined in the complex along with other pilgrims. Before he began consuming Annaprasadam, he recited the Annapurna Devi Stotram along with executive officer LV Subrahmanyam, joint executive officer KS Srinivasa Raju, chief vigilance and security officer MK Singh and other important officials. After lunch, Bapi Raju inaugurated the buffet system of food serving in the fourth dining hall and served food to pilgrims. Press Release Tirumala, August 23: Sri I Y R Krishna Rao, Executive Officer of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams today announced relaxation of timing for benefit of the devotees using the foot walkers path from Alipiri. The footwalkers path for devotees who climbed to Tirumala will henceforth be kept open from 4AM in the morning to 10PM in the night. For last two weeks the foot walkers path shut down between night 10PM to Morning 6AM. In a statement Sri Rao appealed to the devotees to cooperate with the TTD as the new measure was enforced for their safety and protection in view of the recent scare caused in the last two months by the panthers to the devotees coming by the foot walkers path. May 27, 2010 (Hyderabad) – The ‘Rajagopuram’ towering entrance to the 15th century Srikalahasti temple in Chittoor district that collapsed Wednesday night will be rebuilt with the assistance of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister K. Rosaiah announced Thursday. ‘We will approach the Archaeological Survey of India to rebuild the Rajagopuram in a scientific manner,’ Rosaiah told reporters here. Expressing his grief over the incident, he said an inquiry had already been ordered. ‘It is a matter which has to be looked into. I don’t have any ready made answers,’ he replied when asked if the negligence by the state’s endowments department had led to the collapse. The government has formed a committee of experts to probe the reasons for the collapse of the ancient tower.
